Coverage

One calm view across every app your child uses.

CalmKin reads the apps where modern harm actually happens — with the device permission your child openly agrees to.

AI you can trust

A modern language model. Not a keyword list.

Bark and Qustodio still ship 2014-era keyword filters. CalmKin uses the kind of language model that reads context, intent, irony, and slang the way a thoughtful adult would. The result: it catches the grooming, sextortion, and severe bullying that older tools miss — and it stops shouting at song lyrics, jokes, and homework.

  • Reads meaning, not strings
  • Fluent in 20+ languages
  • Tuned by clinicians on real cases
A parent calmly looking at a phone notification, no panic.

Quiet by default

A weekly summary. Not a daily firehose.

Every Sunday at 9 AM you receive one short email — what your kid watched, who they messaged most, the one thing to ask about over breakfast. The other six days of the week, we stay out of your inbox. If something genuinely urgent appears in between, we ping you in the moment with a clearly-written alert and the local crisis number.

  • One Sunday email per week
  • Few-alerts-per-year baseline
  • Local crisis number on every alert

Visible to your child

A safety tool your teenager can live with.

CalmKin sits as a normal app on your child’s home screen with a clear icon — no hidden install, no spyware behaviour. Your child taps the app and sees what we look for, what we don’t, and what we’ve shared with you. This is the only version of monitoring that survives adolescence: the version that becomes a family agreement instead of a betrayal.

  • Visible icon, every device
  • In-app transparency log
  • No stealth mode, ever

Every device, one calm view

iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Chromebook.

Your family uses everything — a school iPad, a parent’s old Android phone, a gaming PC, a Chromebook for homework. CalmKin reads across all of them and rolls them into a single weekly view. No more cross-platform blindspots, no more workarounds, no more apologies for what the tool can’t see.

  • One family, one subscription
  • No per-device upcharge
  • Honest about platform limits

Designed with kindness

Helps you be present, not paranoid.

CalmKin is not a substitute for being a parent — it’s the part of the safety net that lets you stop worrying about what you can’t see, so you can be fully present with your kid in the room. Every alert ends with a short conversation script written by clinicians, so you know what to say in the kitchen at 7 PM, not just what happened on the phone at 4.

  • Conversation scripts in every alert
  • Crisis-trained callback within 4 hours
  • Built with parent advisors in 8 countries

What you see

A quiet weekly summary. A rare urgent alert.

No anxious red dashboards. No daily flood of meaningless flags. CalmKin gives you exactly two surfaces — and most of the time, you only see one.

Sunday summary at 9 AM

A real alert, when it matters

When CalmKin spots one of the seven patterns that need a parent, you get a clearly-written alert with what we saw and what to do in the next hour.

What we watch for

The seven patterns that need a parent.

Out of millions of messages your child will exchange this year, only a handful matter for safety. CalmKin learns to find those.

Grooming patterns

A new contact testing isolation, secrecy, age-mismatched intimacy, or off-platform requests — often weeks before anything explicit.

Sextortion

Pressure for images followed by threats. The fastest-growing online crime against teens. We catch the pattern early.

Severe bullying

Coordinated attacks, threats, doxxing, public humiliation — distinct from normal social drama, which we don’t surface.

Self-harm signals

Talk of suicide, self-harm, eating restriction, or intense hopelessness. We err on the side of telling a parent.

Drug & substance contact

Vendors and dealers approaching kids on Snap, Discord, and TikTok DMs. Pattern-recognized, not keyword-flagged.

Strangers with patterns

Unknown adults whose behaviour matches known predator playbooks — across every app at once.

Built for trust

Compliant where you live. Honest where it matters.

Privacy by design

No data is ever sold. Raw content stays on-device when possible. You can wipe everything in one tap.

Transparent to your child

Your child sees exactly what we see. No hidden icon, no spyware patterns. Trust is the product.

Questions, asked honestly.

Is this just a fancier monitoring app?
No. Most parental monitors flood you with alerts on bad words and innocent context alike. CalmKin uses a modern language model to read conversations the way a thoughtful adult would. The result: usually one or two alerts per year, on things that genuinely need a parent.
Will my child know it’s installed?
Yes — and that’s by design. CalmKin shows a clear icon on your child’s device, with a short explainer of what we do and don’t see. Hidden monitoring breaks trust, breaks platform rules, and ultimately breaks the family.
What about my child’s privacy?
We don’t store the contents of conversations. Raw text stays on the device when the OS permits. We surface only the moments that matter: serious bullying, predatory contact, sextortion, suicide signals. Romance, drama, and venting stay private.
Which platforms does it cover?
TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord, YouTube, Roblox, iMessage, SMS, and email — across iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Chromebook. Some apps (FaceTime, voice calls) are not readable; we tell you that clearly.
When is it available?
CalmKin is in private design with families now. Public early access opens in waves through 2026. Add your email below to get an invite.
How much will it cost?
Pricing will be in line with established parental safety apps (about $10–15 per month for one family). Early-access families lock in a permanent founding-family rate.
